Travel Trunk

Appraisal complete
Description

My mother was given this trunk by my grandma (dad's mom) in Illinois back in 1956 or so when they moved back to Alaska. I don't know anything else about it. I haven't found any marks/lables etc on it. I do remember at one time that there was some type of newspaper?? catalogue??(like old sears & robuck??) paper lining the inside. Not sure if grandma did that or what.

This one also went through the trailer fire and so it's in bad shape. I do want to get both restored at some point. If anyone has any info on this I would greatly appreciate it.

I did have one gentleman from a different antique trunk site tell me it was what was called western paper trunk from 1870's era. He sent examples of type of paper he said it use to be covered in on the outside. I don't remember it ever having any kind of covering on the outside.
