This company was a branch of onieda, the silverware company, which started as a Utopian community. Here's a link regarding the main company history:

As for the chair itself, it's a reproduction of a 18th century windsor, of a type made through the first quarter of 20th Century. Most sell for less than $200.00 if in very good condition
