I bought this from a friend of mine who was going to sell it on eBay back in 2002.

Distinguishing marks by Vila8 burned into the inside top left drawer (see photo attached)

It's in the Colonial Revival style by the Canadian furniture company "Vilas". They made a huge amount of furniture in the Colonial style.Vilas was a renowned Canadian manufacturer of rock maple furniture based in Cowansville, Quebec, they operated until the 1970's I believe. At Auction these go for about $150.00.
