antique table that was said to be duncan phyfe

Description

 the table come to me on consignment in my bargan shop the laddie did not know any thing about it and neither did i. it has 4 chairs that match it. the top of the table sits in holes with pegs. the leafs you pull out and the table top drops down a liltte bit. the top looks like it would be made out of tiger oak. it is a checker board inlay. the rest of the table is made out of oak.

The set is actaully in the French Provincial style, which has gone through quite a number of revivals from its origina incarnation in the mid 1700's. Most like this one tend to date either from the 1930's or 1960's.. Here's a link to some sales at auction for them.
