Antique Knife

Description

 This knife is about 10 inches long with a 6 inch blade. It has what appears to be a bone handle. At the base of the blade on both sides is engraved writing in an Asian language unknown to me. The writining is different on each side. Any information about this knife, its origins or worth would be great.

History
It was found under a house by my uncle who was doing work on a foundation. When he asked the owner who was an elderly man in his mid seventies he said he couldn't recall where he'd got it but gave it to my uncle who then gave it to me as a gift.
