Leather Rocking Chair

Description

This is a full length leather rocking chair with a mexican/spanish pattern handtooled onto it. I know nothing about it, I am not even sure what type of wood the rocker part is made out of. (my guess would be oak?) One of the furniture tacks has come out and I was going to take it to a leather repair shop, but they are charging more than I paid for the chair!  I love it so it's worth it, but I would like to find any info about it that I can.

I attached pictures of the chair and one of the repair that's needed.
