Robert Mitchell Dining Room Set. This set was purchased approximately 15 years ago. The set consists of a Buffet, China Cabinet, and Dining Table with 5 Side Chairs and 1 Arm Chair. The table has a red label attached to the bottom that reads "From The Robert Mitchell Furniture Company, Cincinnati" (see picture). The Buffet also carries the same label on the back. What has me a little confused is that inside the top drawer of the Buffet and also the drawer of the China Cabinet are other labels (this time white) that read "The Robert Mitchell Furniture Company, Cincinnati, Ohio" and along with this label is a brass emblem that states "Berkey and Gay Furniture" (see picture). I'm wondering if this furniture was manufactured by Robert Mitchell and then sold by Berkey and Gay or perhaps this was some sort of joint venture between the two companies. I'm not quite sure what I have here or it's value. Robert Mitchell Furniture Company operated from the mid-1880s to 1940 so I'm not sure of its age. I have found where the Berkey and Gay brass emblems were used starting in the 1920s until the compnay went out of business in the 1940s. Any help would be appreciated.
