Hand-carved Chinese Camphor Chest

Description

The family story goes something like this:  My great-grandmother, Beth worked on the warf in Seatle.  She befriended a sea captain who hid the chest in the bottom of his ship on a return trip from China to avoid paying tariff.  He gave the chest as a gift to my great-grandmother.  The metal plate on the top is inscribed "Beth".  It is made of camphor wood.
