I know absolutely nothing about this awesome looking lamp base. Â Initally I thought this was just a globe and wouldn't have guessed a lamp. Â When I took a closer look I saw on both ends the wires had been severed, so this lamp base was converted into a globe decoration. Â
It has two small metal tags on the piece with the words "made in italy" embossed. Â On the base of the lamp it has "made in italy" engraved and the number 637. Â I see nothing indicating the maker or date etc.,
If I had to guess on a date I would be leaning towards 1940s-50s, but that is a total shot in the dark. I have done some searching online and can find nothing about it. Â Any help on the time period of the piece, the maker or estimated value would be greatly appreciated.
