This piano is a Farrand it has on the right inside back wall the words Farrand Holland Mich est. 1883 and opn the left back wall inside are the numbers 82596. On the back side of the top lid of the piano are the number 55 and 596. There is a medium to large size chip on the bottom back left side corner (if standing looking at piano) and a small one on the other side of ppiano almost in the same place. There are a couple of light stains on the top, but I do distinctly remember they were already there when my father purchased the piano. They white keys have a mild amount of the old yellowing effect to the keys. There are no loose, missing or peeling keys. It sounds like it is still in tune and any other minor flaw that it has, has come upon it during the 40 years I have had the piano. I was seven when my father purchased it and I am now 47 years old my mother and father are no longer with me in my life. I have kept the piano long enough and played many a year on it with and without my father that my guilt for wanting to sell it is now a memory instead of reality. This was a wonderful piano for me to start out on as a beginner and it served me well through each and every one of the levels of piano lessons I went through

History
My parents either found this in a local news paper called the nickel adds or the oregonian back in 1972. I was seven years old and I wanted to take piano lessons. I was taught by the piano teacher at the small country grade school I attended and then when I got home from school I would sit down at this piano with my dad six nights aweek for eight years and he would teach me as well.
