I'm pretty sure that this is made of silver, maybe black silver. It says Meridan B. Company 4398 July 14 1868 ingraved on the bottom of it. It has feet on the bottom and an arch from the bottom to the top. In the middle of it is a sphere, of three pieces. The top of the sphere comes up and hooks to a slot at the top of the arch. In the middle of the sphere is a removable tray with a star made of holes in it. It is very detailed with pictures and patterns.
