Lamps like this generally predate World War Two and were made in both Europe and Japan, I think this one is Japanese. generally the figurine on these pieces is marked , the mark indicating a maker and country of origin, but you have to remove the brass base, the marking will be stamped on the underside of the figurine. values will vary by the maker's mark, but most lamps like this by unknown makers often sell at auction for less than $100.00.
