"Jue" Chinese Ritual Wine Cup

Description

This is one of two items I recently posted in the "Other" category entitled "Antiquities/Relics/Historical Items."

After much internet research, I think I have identified this strange "cup" as a "Jue,"  - a tripod ritual wine cup from China, Unfortunately, one of the three legs is missing. There are numerous articles and photos of similar items.  Appears it could be made of bronze.  I was told it was located during a private archaeological dig in Northern San Diego County, CA.  over 30 years ago. I can't imagine how it might have gotten there from China?

If the information I have gathered is correct, this could be sooooooooo old I'm not sure I should even "own" it.  Perhaps it should be in a museum?

I look forward to hearing back from someone who just might have valid information on this piece.  I might venture out to some local museums next week as well.

Thank you!

...Now I must find out what the history of that figurine is on my first post!  8-)
