Brush Pottery Vase

By sluggirl99, 12 August, 2012
Description

I have two vases in a leaf motif. The glaze is a creamy ivory glaze with some minor crakling in the glaze that you can only see up close. The vases are about 5.5 inches tall and about 7.5 inches wide, at the widest point, and about 2.5 inches deep. The base is an oval about 4"x2.25". They have no damage, no chips.  The bottom of each vase is marked by hand in the pottery "BRUSH" then "USA" then "603" but the inscription Brush is in a print or block letters and not in a script or cursive letters. (See photo.) They are very pretty, but are they made by George Brush from the Brush/McCoy Pottery Co. or a differnet Brush or did someone try to make a fake Brush? Is it something or nothing? Can you tell me when they were made?

I appreciate all your help on this.

Sincerely,

Erin Thomas
