Chinese (?) metal (brass?) container, with seal script writing (?)

I found this little metal container in the dirt, and I've been wondering what it is. I've spent quite some time trying to figure out what the writing is, and a number of individuals have told me they recognized some of the symbols as Chinese seal script, which is about all I've managed to learn---assuming they were right.
