This painting of a canal with buildings and bridge with man and cart. It is signed lower right by John C Hare.. Oil on board in an old frame with glass.
I have this exact painting but not in as good shape as this. It is in an old frame with paper covered back but no glass. Need to know whether it is worth saving.
Thanks,
WL McCabe
If your’s is an exact copy it’s probably a print. Doing a google search for John Cuthbert Hare (1908 - 1978) would be a good place to start finding out more, also see what I posted below.

Here’s a similar painting for sell https://www.rubylane.com/item/715430-dg01201/John-Cuthbert-Hare-1908-19… and there is some information on the artist on this page https://www.bedfordfineartgallery.com/john_cuthbert_hare_cape.html A google search of John Cuthbert Hare (1908 - 1978) will come up with several places selling his works.
Also found a print that I’m sure would not have the same value as an original painting https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-watercolor-john-cuthbert…
