klamer dresser

Description

i bought a dresser  at a church sale, very unique, it has 3 large drawers,and 2 glove drawers on very top. inside

one of the smaller drawers it has a klamer furniture  made in evansville, indiana  paper type label. it has decorative

legs about 8'' , and wooden casters. the drawers are dovetailed, with the original hardware, they are single

pulls with a image of a lady on large drawers, and round brass knob pulls on each of the small drawers with the

same image. the piece of furniture is in good condition, sturdy, someone has painted it.... but still its beautiful.

on one of large drawers looks like maybe a small strip of veneer has came off.

i have researched online but cant seem to find any information on  how old it is . or value .

Your dresser dtaes from the second quarter of the 20th century and is loosely based on American Federal Furniture. Such pieces are generally referred to as being in the "Federal Revival syle". Furniture like this was mass produced right up until WW2, so values for it are quite modest. Dressers that have been painted often sell for under $75.00 at auction or yard sales.
