I have one just like this that  came as a set with a glass, soap dish and covered shave container that my dad bought 50 something years ago at an antique store. Have you gotten an appraisal on this?

What you paid for this pair is about what they go for now at auction. Late 19th Century basin/jug sets reached their peak demand and value back in the late 1980's and have been in decline ever since.
