Antique Oil Portrait

Appraisal complete
Description

I bought this painting approx. 18 0r 19 years ago from an antique shop. I love this old mans expression. I have no clue how old this is. I took it to have it restored and it was a nightmare! Had to fight to get it back years (yes YEARS) later.

There is a signature, but I can't quite make it out. It looks like Reitle. I have tried to research online but can find nothing.

Old guy is wearing a white/cream colored robe with a black hood.

Oil painting almost alwys require a physical appraisal to determine their origins and value, That said, quite often oil paintings with single names tend to be made for the Decorator market or sold in traveling Art sales that set up in Hotel conference rooms.
