it is a locking cedar chest with key origional papers still attached on the inside 

minor surface scratches other than that it is perfect

We get quite a few of these Lane chests in here every month, with very few exceptions they rarely sell for over a couple of hundred dollars evn in very good condition. Chests by Lane and other makers were mass produced in very large numbers from about World War One onward, most we see tend to date from the 1930's through 50's. here is an auctiuon link for you:
