Key to the City of Boston

Description

I don't know anything about this key other the dimensions and inscriptions on it. I thought it might be a novelty item, but I can't find any others like it online so I think it might be a real key to the city that was actually presented by Mayor James Curley. On the left side of the key there is the seal of Boston. (It looks like it may have been added to the original key) Above the teeth of the key there is another seal of relatively the same size that has the inscription "PRESENTED BY

HON. JAMES M. CURLEY

MAYOR OF BOSTON"

And in smaller writing below that it says "ROBBINS CO ATTLESBORO MASS"

The key is about 6 1/2 inches long. And just the teeth are 1.25 inches long.

Thats it. Anybody know anything about this key?
