The painting is a reproduction, including a signature, of "Horses Coming Out of The Sea" by Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacoix. It is a painting and not a print with the colors being much more green that the pictures i have found on the internet.
The painting has been in my family for well over 50 years. I dont know when or how my aunt aquired it so I do not know how old it is but she traded it to my mom in the early 60's.
The frame according to my mom is between 100 and 150 years old.
We are trying to get an appraisal to see if and for how much we need to insure this family heirloom!
A photo of the painting and frame is attached.
We live in the southeast and i have not been able to find anyone within 150 miles to take it too!

Re: My retirement Painting
The original "Horses Coming Out of the Sea" by Delacroix is at the Phillips Collection Gallery in Washington, D.C. You have a reproduction, and if it is singed by Delacroix, it is just that: a reproduction with someone signing his name, and not worth the value of the actual painting. The frame might be worth more. I am sorry.
