Looking for more information on what this would be considered (travel chest, trunk, lockbox?)

Chest has wrought iron and rivots, carved rosemaling, still have key!  Trunk locks.

Ironwork has hand etched "P J S 1729" on top.  I am curious if this could be date it was made.

Hi

In Norway, it was commen to write the name of the owner and the year. So this chest was given to P.J.S in 1729. If you considering selling it, it probobly should sell best in Norway. "Everyone" here loves old chests :p Many people would pay a great deal of money to own this piece.
