16th century vase

By brojkoff, 22 July, 2013
Description

This is a vase (I am not certain about its original purpose) bought about 40 years ago in Russia, by my late father, so that is all I know. I would like to find out something more about its history, or value. Some parts of it seem to be missing (like the handle) and it has been glued, but it also has some nice ornaments. The year inscription on it states 1541. I am pretty much sure that this is everything that I have to say about it (not in a perfect condition, very old and beautiful). Thank you in advance.

Re: 16th century vase

its very hard to evaluate a piece like this through pictures, you would really need to take it to an appraiser in person to determine age authenticity and value. sorry I couldn't be more help...
