Hi,
I researched this item and found it in the 1926 illinois glass co catalog. See the pic of that page.
The numbers on the bottom are 4 62 and 1929. Has the diamond I mark also on the bottom. Im assuming that the 1929 is the date. From the picture in the catalog, I have determined it is an illinois glass co, GLASS BUCKET. It is 5 gallon capacity, the largest bucket they made. It is approx 18" h. It has a light aqua blue color. I only found one 1" scratch on the body and a small bubble mark from when it was produced. Has side seams and the "owens machine suction scar" on bottom. Illinois glass merged with Owens glass in 1929, but this still has the Illinois mark the diamond I. The bottom has normal scuffed wear as if it were placed on the floor. I have the lid, though discolored from age. the glass threads are intact. No chips or breaks anywhere. the lid fits, but i dont want to tighten it closed as it is difficult and I dont want to force it. The handle is secure and intact the wooden part of the handle has normal aging. Anyone that can help me determine the current market value and its rarity would be nice. Thanks so much for your help.
