Simonds Cross Cut Saw Tools

All I know about these tools is that they are cross cut saw tools- sharpener and straightener/tuner-- so I have been told anyways. It was given to me by my grandfather and it is in an old protective wooden shadow box. It also has the original instruction manual with it; however, I am not brave enough to open it, I am scared I will damage something and it be a decrease in value. If anyone knows what this is and what it is valued at, please let me know. My grandfather says he had no idea the value either so we are just curious. :-)
