Description

Purchased this vase as is in Lyon, France at a local antique shop in 2005. I've never cleaned it because I am afraid of wiping away the fragile paint. 

I've spent several days worth of amateur research to find out any info on this vase/ewer/wine vase? Not a clue!

It appears to be hand painted and carved . It looks to be red clay on the inside but the outside and bottom of the vase seems to be porcelain? 

No distinct makers mark on the bottom of the this vase. 

I cannot smell any scents inside the vase.

The spout appears to have been used at one point.

Defintely isn't something that was produced to look old. You can just feel and see the years worn away on it.

Medium Red or orange clay in the inside, porcelain on the outside. It does have a glaze on a few areas but the exposed white parts look to be porcelain.
Distinguishing marks I cannot find any type of marks. I'm not familiar with this era or style of vase to distinguish what type of makers mark.

Date Period I would assume 17th-18th century?
Weight 10 pounds
History I purchased it in Lyon, France in 2005 at an overflowing antique store. That is all the history I know!
