Description

Small writing desk approximately 37" long, 19 1/2 " wide, 33" high.

A decal in the drawer says Heckmen Furniture Company, Grand Rapids Mich..

I acquired it in the 80's from an aunt that live d in Trenton NJ.

Not sure of the date of manufacture--it does have ome scratches on te top.

The top is sectioned with hinges to open which exposes slots and a pull out writing surface.

These spinet desks are of two types, those that were actually made out of an old spinet piano, and those factory made that resemple spinets. This one is of the second type, a factory made desk. most of these date from the second quarter of the 20th century, most sell at auction in the $100-200 range.
