I know he invented the soda fountain. Maybe it is a part of one? Or one of the devices they used for bottling? He was a silverplater and built The Pinehurst Resort in NC. Hope this may help a little

this is a soda fountain draft stand from late 1890s missing top plate with figure and glass dome I have one of these that has 3 taps for soda.these a very rare item
