Description

I found out about the Piedmont Hotel it was opened in 1903 and demonlished in 1963. I have found only silver utensils from the Piedmont Hotel selling online and those were very few. If anyone could tell me the kind of dish this is as well. I only guessed it was a candy dish not sure if I am correct. Thanks in advance for any info.

Not much demand for silverplate these days. Smaller covered dishes like this were used as serving pieces for bread, butter etc..Values for them depend a great deal on the condition of the silverplate, examples with worn plating are hard to sell at any price, but examplkes in good shape often sellk at auction for lkess than $35.00.

I agree with you about the value if it were just  a regular silver plated item. This item has provenance with a historic Atlanta hotel. I think the fact that it is from the early 1900s gives it value as well. If it were some modern day silver plated piece then 35$ would be accurate.
