Tiny Asian Sandal from 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair

Description

This Precious little shoe belonged to my grandmother and was purchased at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair but I suspect it might be much older.  I only have one.  It measures 1 1/2" wide x 3" high x 3 3/4" long.  The base is solid wood and I'm uncertain what the strap is made of. It has inlays of what might be mother of pearl or maybe bone?

I've scoured the web for information on it and have found only one or two similar things.  Nothing with a value or any background information.

I would greatly appreciate any information you are able to offer!

    Thanks!
