Hello, This chair was in my parents attic for years. My mother is 74 now and said she believes it was originally her grandmothers. About ten years ago I had it recaned. From the floor to the top back of the chair is 34" and the seat at its widest width is 17". There is a partial manufacturer label on the bottom where only the word "Whitney" remains. From a quick Google search I believe it was manufactured by the W.F. Whitney Co. , this company began manufacturing furniture in Ashburnham, MA. in 1928 through the mid 1950's. Any additional info on the period this chair is from and oossible value is appreciated. Regardless of worth, I plan on giving it to my niece to keep in family. thanks Tom
