CHINESE HAND CARVED IVORY CHESS SET

Stunning Chinese hand carved ivory set. Palace sized set with display stand and wooden case. Each figure is comprised of relief carved figures. The kings and queens are depicted with Dragon and Phoenix Thrones. The bishops are depicted as wisemen. The rooks are depicted as brick bombard towers. The knights and pawns are depicted riding on animals including horses, kylin, ox, foo lions, stag and elephants. Colors are natural and tea stained. Largest piece (king/emperor) measures 6 1/2" height x 3" width (16.51cm x 7.62cm). Open board measures 30" length x 30" width x 7" height (76.2cm x 76.2cm x 17.78cm).
