Wooden Foot Stool with Carving

Description

This is a fascinating piece. Nothing is known of its origin, but first bleonged to a family member from around 1910-1915.

The swastikas on this stool pre-dates Nazi Germany. The swastika on one size is backwards from the other. It is also somehow related to the book/play "The Squaw Man" (see pictures) but no one remembers why.

Solid wood, sturdy and heavy for its size, it could very well have been a personal project for someone. We just don't know.

So I am putting this out there to see if anyone might have an idea on its origin, or where I could search to find it.
