Possibly a model for a house

Description

This little house belongs to a friend of mine. She is 97, and she got it from her father-in-law many years ago. She is thinking that since his family owned a general store that this could possibly be a model that they would have gotten with a Sears and Robuck catalog demonstrating different houses.

It has doors that open, and metal window frames. It has a tiny chimney and a porch. It is all in tact. I'm honestly not sure why she put the string on it.

Any help at all to confirm what it is or even better if someone has an estimate on value that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

"P"
