Description

Sohmer Baby Grand Piano, Model-57 (1978), Single owner, excellent condition and quality with 88- keys and 3-pedals with matching bench seat. Notes: Assessment of Sohmer grand, model 57, serial number (1979). Instrument in good musical / playable condition for age. Framing, sound board, ribs, bridges, harp, pin field all good. Trap work / lyre all functional (back supports need tightening). Action and back action all in good operational condition (some regulation i.e early let-off, but very playable). Strings a bit tarnished, but no rust. Wound strings still lively. Tuning pins bright. Natural lacquer finish in good shape for age (bit of sun damage on tail). In same location for life of the instrument, currently not played, kept with both lids down. Many years since last tuned (3/4 note flat @ A4) so difficult to fully assess tone, but seems consistent with make/model. Solid instrument.
