1865 Waterbury Ogee Weighted Shelf Clock w/ George Washington

Appraisal complete
Description

Hello!

I recently purchased this Waterbury Ogee Weighted Shelf Clock for $75 at an estate sale. I was hoping you could tell me a little bit more about this clock and it's value. The clock is in amazing condition for its age. The screen print doesn't have any chipping and the vaneer doesn't show much wear at all. What do you think?

Thanks!

Mitchell

These Ogee clocks were one of the first mass produced types in North America, virtually every clockmaker of any size during the Victorian era produced a line of them. Values tend to be modest for them, we see Ogee's in good condition often go at auction for under $100.00 these days.
