Vintage/antique beer stein marked on the bottom with double E's and H. I do know this stein is by Eckhardt and Engler, 1/2 liter stein. The stein has a vine handle and lidded. The stein is very colorful with dark blue being the background. There are 3 separate scenes on the stein. With handle facing right the first scene says hofbrauhaus and shows old buildings in red orange color. Middle scene shows a monk with arms stretched out. The monk has a beer mug in one hand and turnip in the oth hand. Words under the monk say gross aus Munchen. The last scene is when the handle is facing left is many buildings together making what looks like an old university. The words under the building are Rathaus u. Frauenkirche. Also on the bottom of the stein is a C with a line under the C. On the inside of the lid are what looks like 4 letters. I cannot read a few of them. But, the second letter looks to be a B and fourth letter is a definite M. Under the four letters looks to be a diamond with a couple letters in the diamond. The only letter I can be sure of is the last letter, M. I do know my husband purchased this stein in Germany in the early 70's.
