This piece has a one-piece hinged top with no doors or drawers on the front. The front is deeply carved with floral and bird patterns. There is a large iron (?) lock in the center of the front panel.
The piece measures 72.5" long x 24.5" deep x 30.5" tall. The top, bottom, sides, and front/back are solid pieces of wood, about 1.25" thick. The corners have a tongue-and-groove type connection, with large iron nails attaching the bottom/skirt/leg panel at the bottom of the piece. The top left hinge is missing, and top right hinge is detached. There is no key for the lock. There are various cracks and dings/dents throughout.
I am told that the orginal owner purchased it at an antique show in Spain around 1980, and had it shipped back to their home in the Washington, D.C. area.
There are no visible identifying markings anywhere on the piece.
