Purchased this tray (with mosaic stand) in 1982 in a market in Al-Hofuf, Saudi Arabia. Was told it was from Syria. Liked it because it has a kind of 'folk-artishness' with female figure in the center. Very unusual in islamic art. Also looks very hand done. Different than the fancy ornate ones. Heavy, heavy solid tray, with pie crust edge. 26.5 inches diameter and 1.5 inches high. Cannot remember what I paid for it. It has been in storage for a while now and wondering if I should clean it or will that devalue it. Thank you for your comments/advice.
