Description

Hi,

This table was purchased by my father in 1975 in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.   You wouldn't think that a table with a Buddhist motif would be found there, but apparently it slipped under the radar.  The store was called "Wahab's" (the proprietor) and I have no idea what it originally cost.  I do remember that at the time it was described as a Tibetan table, and I seem to recall a piece of paper afixed to the bottom that stated as much .... but over the years that has been lost.   I have no idea what this table is worth.  I think it's beautiful and unusual.   If anyone has a clue, I'm all ears.   I haven't found anyone yet that has a firm opinion on it.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

-Dave

History I sort of told its history in my opening description. This is the first time I've used this service, so I'm a bit out of my depth here. Anyway, the table was purchased in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia in 1975 for an unknown amount of money. The shop was called "Wahab's" ... who, as I recall, was a nice enough guy with whom my dad liked to haggle. I was nine years old at the time. The shop was amazing, just filled with strange and cool inventory. I don't know how a Buddhist-themed table managed to make it into Saudi Arabia, given their religious policies, but it did and 41 years later it belongs to me. It's a beautiful table, but I have no idea what it's worth. I've searched extensively on the internet to find one like it, but never have. I also haven't been unable to find anyone who has a solid opinion about its value. So, I'm throwing it out to you. Let me know if you know something I don't. :)
