Hi,

Did you or a relative purchase this watch? Do you by any chance have the original receipt? Asking because the problem with appraising Rolex watches is that the great majority are replicas. An appraisal on a Rolex watch really can't be done unless completed in person by a Rolex expert as it's often impossible to tell an original from a relica by photograph.

Karen, you are exactly right. Rolex watches have self-winding automatic mechanisms, they do not have batteries. If this one has a battery then it would most certainly be a replica. Hence, another reason why Rolex watches cannot be appraised without an in-person inspection.
