Any time you see a country of origin marking such as "made In France" you are generally dealing with an item made after World War One This is an example of :"whiteware", the blotchy marking on the back was applied to cover the name of the company that sold it as an undedorated blank, these blanks were often painted by smaller pottery studios for resale. No huge value though, generally under $75.00.
