Description
Roos Cedar Chest, Forest Park, IL. Belonged to my wife's mother. Probably purchased in th 1930's or 1940's. Only damage is front right top carved corner. Some minor bumps and scratches on claw foot legs.

Cedar chests like this were produced in huge numbers, Roos was one of the big name makers along with Lane Furniture, who made of 14 million of them alone. For this reason even the ones made in the early 20th century still have modest values. Ones like this are typical of those made during the second quarter of the 20th century, we retail examples in very good condtion for less than $200.00, they often go at auction for less than $100.00
