Description Vintage or antique hand carved Nathan Ivory company chess set from Hong Kong. Purchased it from a church rummage sale a few years ago. The king measures 4 1/2 to 5 in. tall as far as I can tell all pieces are intact with no breakage

Medium I believe ivory.
Distinguishing marks has card in box stating it is from the Nathan Ivory company in Hong Kong
Condition Good
Size and dimensions of this item King is 4 1/2-5 in tall other pieces vary down to about 2 in.
Date Period Will have to verify it is legal for me to sell before finalizing any sale of course.
History Unknown. Appears vintage or antique and authentic.

Before anything else can be done you'd need to determine that they are actually ivory, some of these sets are synthetic ivory, an ivory powder and resin. You can test for ivory with a red hot needle , pushing it into the base, if the needle melts the surface it isn't ivory.
