Asian embroidery appraisal help

Description

I am hoping someone can help me shed some light on this beautiful embroidered picture I inherited from my grandmother. This picture is about 18" high, 13" wide, with the frame 3" larger than that around it. It is clearly a very old silk base, very fine weave, and the dragon is composed of predominantly metallic gold and blue silk thread. The other portions of the image are shades of warm gray and blue. My grandparents' family travelled extensively in China and Japan from the 1870's on, but I believe this image was purchased by my grandmother in the 1950's or 1960's from the gallery stamped on the back of the paper on the frame, marked 'Dorothy Jones' Studio, 4100 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. Axminster 3-1011.
