Antique Wood Carving

Description

This wall hanging was given to me by an elderly man who said he'd been carrying it around for many, many years since he was a missionary. He was moving to a smaller condo and said he was tired  of lugging it around and asked if I wanted it. It was very wearhered and grey, I power washed it yesterday so the wood grains show up better. I've had it for about 10 years, when I first got it  the man carving had pearl/shell eyes but my grandson pulled those out and lost them. This carving is heavy and big, approximately 18 by 34 inches. Just like to know where it's from, some have said Irian Jaya/ Polynesian. And possible value.
