I have recently aquired a Standard Desk Company Library desk, it appears to be circa 1940 based on my personal research on the internet. It is Tiger Oak and also has a Property of Hughes Tool Co. brass tag located on the front left leg. I am considering refinishing this piece, but would truly like to know it's estimated value before I do anything that might deminish it's current value. I have seen a similar Propert Tag in my research, the only difference being that the one I found had a year of 1939, where this piece appears to have an inventory # 33336. I appriciated any help in investigating its value.
