Brass Panelled Wood Box

Description

I believe this to be a cherry wood box panelled on all sides and top with brass.  The top dipicts a scene of people dancing.  The sides appear to be hammered brass with a decorative border. The box was obtained from an estate sale. I think it may have been a tobacco or cigar box, but I haven't been able to confirm a purpose for the box.  Any information is greatly appreciated.
