gund monkey w/rubber face

Description

hello, this is my first post on here. :) i got this fellow on saturday when i went antiquing. i found him in the first store that i went to and i fell in love. his fur is very interesting and i love his facial expression. on his tag, it reads "gund." after doing some research i found out that this particular logo was the 60's logo for gund. i'm just wondering...does this guy have a name (i named him "jimbo") and what's up with his fur? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
